The phone shows the direction

Place your phone in the StarSense dock, launch the StarSense Explorer app and align your phone with the telescope’s optics. The app will generate a list of objects currently visible, and the arrows on the screen will guide you to the correct position. When the crosshairs turn green, the object will be visible through the eyepiece. The patented LISA algorithm compares the detected star patterns against a database, so positioning is not based solely on the gyroscope and accelerometer.

A vivid picture of the city beneath a dark sky

An 8-inch Newtonian telescope reveals Jupiter’s Galilean moons, its cloud bands and the Great Red Spot, Saturn’s rings, as well as the Orion Nebula, the Lagoon Nebula and the Andromeda Galaxy. Even in a city with light pollution, you can see the planets, the Pleiades, Albireo and the brightest deep-sky objects, whilst in a darker location there are hundreds of objects to observe. The XLT-coated mirrors are made from glass with low thermal expansion.

Sturdy Dobson mount

The tripod features large height-adjustable bearings with adjustable tension, Teflon azimuth bearings and support bars for the side panels. The pan knob allows the tube to be moved with precision without the heat from your hands affecting the optics. Carrying handles positioned at the centre of balance between the tube and the mount make it easier to move the mount.
