The lens offers unique possibilities to capture things from 24.7 centimetres away at double magnification, and distant things at 0.1 magnification. The lens is a surprisingly flexible tool despite the manual focus and manual aperture control. You don't need extension tubes or other adapters when shooting miniature subjects or even whole people. The Venus Optics Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO lens is optimized for 35mm format sensors, but it also works with APS-C sensors.
