Rode Reporter is an omnidirectional microphone from Rode designed for interview and presentation use. Its transducer capsule is internally shock-absorbing and has a good tolerance to the side-effects of wind and other low-level ambient sounds. The unit also has an internal "plosive" curtain that prevents vocal plosives. Rode designed the Rode Reporter microphone's frequency response specifically with field reporting in mind. The microphone rejects frequencies below 70Hz, which is where most of the damage from wind and other ambient sounds originates. It also has a boost at 4-10kHz to emphasise speech. The reporter microphone's omnidirectional pattern eliminates the need to move the microphone even back in an interview situation. The 360-degree taltion angle means you simply place your microphone between you and the subject without having to change position when it's the interviewee's turn to speak. The inside of the microphone has a multi-level fabric that acts as a windscreen, so an external windscreen is not mandatory.
